From Neighbours to Family: The Heart of Community Living at Kutumb.

In today’s fast-paced world, finding a home that offers more than just comfort is rare, especially for senior citizens. A true home nurtures relationships, encourages wellbeing, and creates a strong sense of belonging. Kutumb by Naiknavare, located in the peaceful surroundings of Talegaon near Pune, is built on this very belief. Here, community living is not just a concept; it is a lived experience where neighbours gradually become family.

Designed thoughtfully for senior citizens, Kutumb promotes emotional, social, and cultural well-being through regular events and shared celebrations. Every initiative is aimed at bringing residents together, strengthening bonds, and enriching everyday life.

Supporting Emotional Well-being Through Meaningful Conversations

One of the most impactful initiatives at Kutumb was the psychological lecture titled “Ageing Gracefully”, hosted on 9th November 2025. Conducted by Mrs. Aparna Chavan, the session focused on various emotional and psychological aspects of ageing. The intimate setting encouraged open conversations, shared experiences, and honest reflections.

The lecture helped residents understand how to embrace change, maintain emotional balance, and find joy in everyday moments. More importantly, it created a safe space for seniors to connect, reminding everyone that they are not alone in their journey. This session beautifully reflected Kutumb’s commitment to holistic senior living, where mental well-being is given equal importance as physical comfort.

Festivals That Bring Hearts Closer

Festivals at Kutumb are moments of togetherness that revive cherished memories and create new ones. The Kutumb Diwali celebrations perfectly captured this spirit of community living. The festivities began with a lively musical karaoke evening, where residents sang familiar songs, laughed together, and bonded over shared nostalgia.

The celebrations continued with a serene and traditional Diwali Pahat, allowing residents to welcome the festival in a calm and reflective atmosphere. These shared rituals and simple joys transformed the festive season into a collective experience, strengthening relationships and reinforcing the warmth of community life.

Culture and Storytelling as a Shared Experience

Kutumb also believes that culture and art play a powerful role in emotional enrichment. On 10th October 2025, residents were treated to a special cultural evening with “Chitrangana”, a theatrical book recital by renowned Marathi actor Dr. Girish Oak, accompanied by Mrs. Pallavi Oak.

Held at Kutumb, Talegaon, the performance featured Dr. Oak reading and enacting passages from his book Chitra, bringing stories to life through expressive narration. The evening was immersive and deeply moving, leaving residents emotionally connected to the performance and to one another.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony on behalf of the Naiknavare team, followed by a tree plantation at the clubhouse by Dr. and Mrs. Oak. This meaningful gesture symbolised gratitude, sustainability, and the values that Kutumb stands for.

Navratri: Celebrating Togetherness for Seven Days

One of the most vibrant highlights of community life at Kutumb was the seven-day Navratri celebration, organised exclusively for residents. Each day brought new energy and excitement through a wide range of activities, including cooking competitions, rangoli, mehendi, dandiya, garba, singing, and dancing.

These celebrations encouraged residents to participate actively, showcase their talents, and enjoy the festive spirit together. Over the course of seven days, neighbours became friends, and friendships deepened into family-like bonds, perfectly embodying the essence of community living.

Makar Sankranti: Sharing Warmth and Traditions

Makar Sankranti at Kutumb by Naiknavare was celebrated with simplicity, warmth, and shared traditions that resonated deeply with residents. The festival brought everyone together through the exchange of tilgul, heartfelt greetings, and conversations filled with childhood memories of Sankranti mornings. The joyful atmosphere encouraged residents to connect over familiar customs, reinforcing bonds through shared rituals and smiles. This celebration reflected the true spirit of Kutumb, where festivals are not just events on a calendar but moments that strengthen emotional ties and make every resident feel at home.

Creativity and Devotion Through Ganpati Idol Making

Adding to the sense of togetherness was a special Ganpati idol-making workshop, organised exclusively for Kutumb residents. Using eco-friendly clay, residents came together to create idols, blending creativity with devotion.

This hands-on activity encouraged collaboration, conversation, and mindfulness. It offered residents an opportunity to reconnect with traditions while sharing a meaningful experience with their community, further strengthening emotional bonds.

A Community That Feels Like Family

What truly sets Kutumb by Naiknavare apart is its ability to create an environment where seniors feel supported, valued, and emotionally secure. Every event, celebration, and gathering is thoughtfully planned to foster connection and belonging.

Located in Talegaon near Pune, Kutumb offers a peaceful setting away from the chaos of city life while remaining well-connected. The project reflects Naiknavare Developers’ vision of creating senior-friendly homes that prioritise dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

True to its name, ‘Kutumb’, meaning family, this residential community has transformed everyday living into a shared journey. Here, people don’t just live side by side; they grow together, celebrate together, and support one another through every phase of life.
