All you need to know about Chakan area in Pune

Chakan is a strategic industrial & warehousing location in Pune. It is the biggest industrial corridor in the western suburbs of Pune. Located next to the Nashik-Pune Expressway, it is now emerging as a residential locality too. The location is home to residential projects from various builders. Industrial and commercial growth, combined with improved infrastructure has led to expeditious growth in the area.

Chakan is about 30 km from Pune, between Pune & Nashik cities on NH. It lies on the roads that connect the Mumbai-Pune Highway to the Pune-Nashik Highway, and the Pune-Ahmednagar-Aurangabad Highway. Chakan lies close to Mumbai (150 km), and Nashik (175 km).

 

A few prominent roads passing through the area include Talegaon-Chakan Road, Pune-Nashik Road, and Chakan-Shikrapur Road. Besides, a ring road is also coming up which will connect major industrial establishments like Chakan MIDC, Bhosari MIDC, Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, among others. 

 

State-run buses (MSRTC) run frequently between Pune and Nashik. PMPML buses connect Chakan to Pune and  Pimpri Chinchwad. Chakan is also on the proposed Pune Junction–Nashik Road railway line. Pimpri Railway Station is located at a distance of 20km while the Pune International Airport is 28km through Chakan – Alandi Road.

 

In the coming months, Phase III of the Pune metro will connect Chakan to Moshi.

Chakan hosts many small- and large-scale industries like Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz. Talawade MIDC IT Park lies 16km away, Commerzone is 26 km, International Tech Park is 38km, and Platinum Tech Park is 32km away. Besides these, there is Khed City which is 14km, Pradhikaran Industrial Zone is 15Km, Pimpri Chinchwad Bhosari industrial area is 16km, and Hinjewadi is 28km via NH60.

Chakan is close to Pune and Talegaon and has good connectivity to big cities Mumbai, Nasik, Sholapur, and Aurangabad.
